Joel Rutten

Water Resources Scientist

Joel Rutten has experience in various aspects of hydrologic modelling, including model development, generation of climatic/hydrologic datasets for historically-based and stochastic assessment, and review and assessment for a wide range of projects and catchments. Joel’s experience includes application of modelling techniques to assess specific management and water supply options, development of pre- and post-processing software to aid modelling assessment and outcomes, and statistical review/analysis of relevant data inputs and outputs for modelling purposes.

Joel has undertaken model development, review and assessment for a wide range of projects and catchments, including water security assessment of regional water supply systems, at a large-scale such as the South East Queensland (SEQ) Water Supply System, and a smaller-scale such as Longreach town water supply. Other projects have included farm-scale water supply and cropping performance within Queensland catchments, catchment-scale water resource planning and policy outcomes for many Queensland and New South Wales catchments and project-scale water security assessments.
